The Memorable Dog Show

                The Memorable Dog Show

“This article is about my experience and passion in dogs. In this article I also thank dawn life style for arranging a superb dog show for the dog lovers…"

From very beginning I was a dog lover. I was attracted towards every kind of dog. But as per our religion dog is not considered as a good pet to keep. Some people say that if there is a dog in a house the angels of blessings will not enter in that house. I searched a lot about it and I consulted many muftis and other persons to find the truth. Now here is a small part of my research.

is traditional among Muslims all over the world to regard the dog as a dirty animal that when touched would void the wudu (ablution) and infect the one who touched it with "nagasah" (dirty impurity)!
Sadly, this concept comes from fabricated hadith which claims that the Prophet ordered the killing of dogs and gave numerous hadith that prohibit the keeping of dogs except for hunting and guarding, due to their dirty status!
However, by studying the Quran we find no such truth. Nowhere in the Quran are dogs prohibited, nor is there any mention of any contaminating effect of these lovely animals who are man's best friend. Consequently, we must dismiss all these hadith that fabricate lies against the Prophet.
1- God tells us in the Quran about the story of the dwellers of the Cave (Surah 18). In verse 13 God tells us that they were good believers and that God guided them. In verse 18 God tells us that they had their dog with them.
Now if dogs are prohibited and dirty, would God speak of those dwellers of the Cave (who had a dog) as good believers?
2- In 5:4 God tells us that it is okay to eat what the trained dog’s catch (dogs are used in hunting). Now if the dog is an animal which causes contamination by mere touch, would God tell us it is perfectly okay to eat what the dog catches with his mouth (let alone just touch the dog)?
3- The Quran contains a very important rule for all believers, and the rule is:
Nothing is haram (unlawful) unless it is prohibited by God Himself, and since God describes the Quran as complete, perfect and fully detailed, thus all the prohibitions decreed by God are found in the Quran. The following Quranic verses confirm this truth:
“Say, "Who prohibited the nice things God has created for His creatures, and the good provisions?" Say, "Such provisions are to be enjoyed in this life by those who believe. Moreover, the good provisions will be exclusively theirs on the Day of Resurrection." We thus explain the revelations for people who know.” 7:32

“Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed?” 6:114

“You shall not utter lies with your own tongues stating: "This is halal (lawful), and this is haram (unlawful)," to fabricate lies and attribute them to God. Surely, those who fabricate lies and attribute them to God will never succeed.” 16:116

There is not one verse in the Quran where God says that dogs are dirty or that they are prohibited to keep.
4- Is it logical that God would create an animal to be man's best friend and serve him in many ways, and then prohibit such an animal?
5- If this is what the Quran has to tell us about the issue of dogs, then where does all the prohibition come from? Where do the claims that dogs are dirty animals which if touched would void our ablution and render us impure come from? As most other corruptions which have crept into Islam, the source is always the fabricated hadith which are falsely attributed to Prophet Muhammad!
Hadith tell us that the Prophet prohibited the keeping of dogs as pets. Other hadith tell us that angels won't enter a room where there is a dog. Other hadith tell us that if we touch a dog our ablution is void and we become impure, and that we have to wash seven times to clean this impurity, the final time in dust. That seems inconsistent with the Quran saying you may eat what they catch for you! Some other hadith go even beyond that to say that we must kill all black dogs!
The following are some examples:
Malik's Muwatta, Book 54, Number 54.5.13:
"Malik related from Nafi from Abdullah Ibn Umar that the Messenger of God ordered all dogs (other than sheepdogs or hunting dogs) to be killed".
Ibn Hanbal's collection: The Messenger of God said:
"You shall kill all black dogs, because they are devils."
The question is: Did the Prophet really issue these prohibitions? In addition, did the Prophet have the authority to issue these prohibitions?
The answer is given in the Quran:
"O you prophet, why do you prohibit what God has made lawful in order to please your wives? God is Forgiver Merciful" 66:1
Obviously God did not include the words in 66:1 in the Quran to belittle the Prophet in our eyes, but these words are placed in the Quran in order to confirm to all believers across all time that the Messenger of God does not have the authority to prohibit anything which is not prohibited by God. God is the only Law Maker (6:114) and the only duty of the messenger is to deliver God's message (5:92).
The outcome of all the above is that we must discard all the lies attributed to the prophet regarding prohibiting dogs and be focused on the Quran as the only source of guidance and religious law.

I think it is enough to express my feelings about the man’s best friend. Now let’s stick to the topic again. As I was saying I loved dogs from a very small age. I love every kind of dog even the small ones too. Aww some of them are really cute.

I had some dogs and I gifted them to some very dear friends of mine. As I was having my winter vacations a friend told me that there is a dog show arranged by the dawn life style. He wanted me to train his dog for the show and wanted me to make him participate in it. The dog was mine a long time ago and I gifted it to my friend. I agreed in no time and started to train the dog. It toke approximately three weeks to train the dog. As we were ready we registered the dog for the show. The dog show was held on 6th of January 2k13.
As we went to the dog show it was really amazing. There were dogs everywhere. I was feeling very lucky to be there. There were all kind of dogs starting from pugs to Danes. Wow it was an amazing site. Well after reaching there we got our participation number and waited for our category. In the meanwhile I find some of my face book friends. When I started dog dealings and trainings many people supported me in. They taught me the proper way of dealing and training. I can never forget Adnan Khalil. He was the first guy I came to know who had a kennel and was a trainer. He guided me in every way. He made me learn about dog breeds. He made me judge the right dog according to the breed points. After that Muhammad Ahsan gave me a big confidence in this field. Similarly I can never forget my best buddy Noman he is like my brother and he always guided me and stood for me not only in the dog field but also in every aspect of my life. I almost forgot Mr. Mian Abdul Rauf to thank, he is a very humble personality with a very kind nature. He introduced me to many people related in dogs. He informed me about up coming events and other activities. Thank you friends you made me learn many valuable lessons in a very short time. Love you all.
After that I and my friends met different people having marvelous dog. We had an amazing photo shoot there with the dogs. After that I met the HONURABLE jude.MR Tasvir Hussain. He is a very experienced person having a God gifted power of judging the best dog.

The show was arranged in a very nice order. There were different categories according to the different breeds. The dogs were amazingly healthy and pure. We were killing our time by seeing different dogs. In not time our category was to come next. We rushed towards our dogs, combed them, dressed them with the best leash and toke them inside the ring. As I entered the ring my heart was beating too fast and I thought that it would pop out any time. The judges announced that we should make our dogs walk around the ring boundary. The walk lasted for almost 7 minutes after that they announced to make the dogs trout. After the trout we were ordered to gather around in front of the judges. The judges noted the points of our dogs and after that he announced the results. My dog stood the best there. There were almost 15 dogs competing in this category. So it was a great achievement for me. I patted my dog a several times and he was also slightly smiling on his success. I got the certificate and a medal for the dog. I was extremely happy on what my dog had done. I hugged him and patted him on his head. As I left the ring all my buddies gathered to appreciate the dog they gave him dog biscuits and other treats on his success.

This is how we all celebrated the victory of our dog. The dog was also rejoicing the expensive moments of his victory.
Well the dog show was amazingly fun for all of us even for the dogs. This is how the day ended we enjoyed the environment and the victory of our dog. I will never forget that marvelous day I had in my life. From now onwards I have decided that I will never miss any of the dog shows in my whole life (fingers crossed let’s hope for the best).

“Thank you, dawn lifestyle for giving us such a wonderful platform to express our passion for the man’s best friend. I hope we will be having these kinds of activities again and again. Best of luck and thank you. . .”
Regards,
Abdullah Jilani
